What it measures

• AC magnetic fields — 40 Hz to 100 kHz, 0.1–100.0 milligauss, 3-axis
• AC electric fields — 40 Hz to 100 kHz, 1–1000 volts per metre
• Radio frequency and microwave — 20 MHz to 6 GHz, 0.001–19.999 mW/m²
• Wiring faults, switch-mode supplies and other “dirty electricity” sources
• Wi‑Fi routers, smart meters, cordless phone bases and mobile phone masts

How to use it

Turn the dial to the field you want to measure and walk the space slowly. Readings rise as you get closer to the source, which is exactly how you find it — the bedhead against the meter box, the router on the study wall, the cordless phone base beside the couch.

The TF2 also has a weighted mode, which scales the magnetic and electric readings to reflect the current each field actually induces inside the human body. That is the number worth paying attention to, and it is why this meter is the one EMF consultants carry rather than a $40 detector off a marketplace.

Being straight with you: what a meter will and won’t show

A field meter measures field strength. CMO technology does not reduce field strength — it never has, and we say so plainly on our science page. If you take a reading, install a Harmony and take the reading again, the number will be the same. That is the technology working as designed, not a fault.

The two do different jobs, and both are worth doing:

• The meter reduces your exposure. It finds the hotspots, so you can move the router, unplug the cordless phone base, shift the bed, or stop sitting with a powerboard under your feet. Distance is the cheapest protection there is — and you can’t apply it until you know where the fields are.
• The CMO range addresses the biological effect of the exposure that is left over: the fields you can’t move away from, like the neighbour’s Wi‑Fi, street-level 5G, or the mains inside your walls.

We would rather sell you the instrument to check our claims than hope you never measure. If a meter is all you need, buy the meter and leave it at that.

Warranty and support

AlphaLab, Inc. provides a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty. Service and calibration are carried out in the USA, so a warranty repair means the unit travels — we arrange that for you and cover the freight on any unit that fails inside the warranty period. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this warranty and are not limited by it.
